The container has refrigerating chamber (13) enclosed by a receptacle (15) made from synthetic material and also a cloth (16) which is porous to carbon dioxide gas but not to the snow. The receptacle has an inner and outer skin filled with an insulating expanded foam (4). The cloth is held in place by a tier (20) applied to the neck (19) of the receptacle and is further reinforced against the gas jet used to fill the receptacle by an inner metal grid (26) which has top and bottom carrying members (25,27) whose extremities (28) fit into grooves (10) and are bolted,together (29).
