<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thin a connector while keeping the strength of the connector by forming the parts corresponding to an outer shell and an inner shell of an electric connector with the upper and lower die cast shells, and forming an engagement port of the connector by a point part formed by superposing the die cast shells. SOLUTION: The front edge parts 10, 10' and the rising edge parts 11, 11' of the upper and lower die cast shells 4, 8 are formed in such manner that the upper and lower parts of an engagement port are deformed corresponding to the outer shape of a receptacle. A connector block 1 is formed by burying a number of plugs 2 and terminals 3 into a plastic main body in parallel. Both ends of the connector block 1 are fitted to the recessed parts 5 of the lower die cast shell 4. A lock lever 6 and a lock mechanism 7 for operating the lock lever 6 are also fitted in the recessed parts of the shell 4, then the upper die cast shell 8 is superposed thereon, and the upper and lower shells 4, 8 are integrally fixed by means of screws 9 to assemble an electric connector.</p> |
