PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium excellent in recording, regenerating properties by a short wave length semiconductor laser and having a good light resistance and durability. SOLUTION: This metal including azo compound comprises an azo compound expressed by general formula (I) and a metal salt. In the formula, X is a hydroxy, a carboxy group, a sulfonamide group, a carbonylamide group and an amino group, R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl group having a (substituted) straight chain or branched group, or a (substituted) unsaturated hydrocarbon, a (substituted) aromatic ring, an alkoxy group, R3 to R8 are each H, a (substituted) straight chain or branched alkyl group, a (substituted) straight chain or branched unsaturated hydrocarbon, a (substituted) aromatic ring, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom, cyano group, R1 and R2 or R6 and R7 may form a ring through a coupling group. |
