PURPOSE: A structure of upper plate of PDP and method for manufacturing the same is provided to improve protective property of dielectric layer and secondary electron emission characteristics, while reducing manufacturing procedures and cost. CONSTITUTION: A structure of upper plate of PDP, comprises a transparent electrode(22) patterned onto a glass substrate(21); a bus electrode(23) patterned onto the transparent electrode so as to lower the resistance value of the transparent electrode; a dielectric substance(24) made of a fluorinated glass and formed all over the glass substrate including the transparent electrode and the bus electrode; and a protective film(25) formed by transforming surface of the dielectric substance through a surface treatment. A method for manufacturing upper plate of PDP, comprises the steps of patterning a transparent electrode onto a glass substrate and patterning a bus electrode onto the transparent electrode; producing a fluorinated glass having MgO as a main component, into a paste or dry film shape, forming a dielectric thick film all over the glass substrate including the bus electrode and the transparent electrode, and sintering the resultant structure; and transforming surface of the dielectric thick film into an MgO protective film through temperature, pressure and atmosphere control. |
