PURPOSE: A method for purifying pravastatin using a HP20 resin and acetone using the affinity between pravastatin and a HP20 resin is provided, by just controlling the concentration of acetone of the adsorption solution and the elution solution. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the step of carrying out the adsorption chromatography of the solution containing pravastatin and other impurities with an acetone solution and a column charged with a HP20 resin, wherein the concentration of acetone of the adsorption solution is maintained to be 20% or less during adsorption and the concentration of acetone of the elution solution is maintained to be 20% or more during elution.
