The method is applied to a system including a Line Interface Circuit Input (LICI) and two redundant asynchronous switching networks (ASN0,ASN1) leading to a Redundant Path Combination buffer. When message cells are received a window is established to block cells with sequence numbers lower than that of the last cell selected for further processing. The result is an exclusion of lower-numbered cells from such selection, so that repetition of cells is avoided and in the event of switching between transmission paths there is a minimal loss of cells. |
