<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to select a sentence which is extremely necessary and sufficient for correctly grasping document content from a plurality of sentences included in document data. <P>SOLUTION: A high order link associating a sentence with clauses included in the sentence and its weighting factors and a low order link associating the clauses and words included in the clauses and its weighting factors and the initial value of the significance of the words are set, and front propagation processing for calculating the significance of the clauses based on the weighting factors of the low order link and the significance of the words, and for calculating the significance of the sentence based on the weighting factors of the high order link and the significance of the clauses and backward propagation processing for calculating the significance of the clauses based on the weighting factors of the high order link and the significance of the sentence, and for calculating the significance of the words based on the weighting factors of the low order link and the significance of the clauses are repeated, and one or more significance sentences are selected based on the significance of the sentence when predetermined convergence conditions are established. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
