METHOD OF ALLOCATING RADIO RESOURCE IN MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A radio resource allocation method in a mobile communication system is provided to recover radio resources temporarily if a transmission packet does not exist, so that the recovered resources can be newly allocated to another mobile terminal, thereby efficiently operating resource allocation, recovery, and reallocation according to existence of the packet. If a downlink packet does not exist for the first mobile terminal assigned with downlink radio resources, the assigned radio resources are recovered and assigned to the second mobile terminal. It is continuously confirmed whether a new downlink packet exists for the first mobile terminal whose radio resources are recovered. If so, the radio resources assigned to the second terminal are recovered and reassigned to the first terminal.
