<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of displaying a high-quality image with high contrast even in a bent state. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: first and second transparent insulating substrates 110, 210; a liquid crystal 30 sealed between the first and second transparent insulating substrates 110, 210; first and second polarizer plate 120, 220 arranged outside the first and second transparent insulating substrates 110, 210; a first stress relaxing layer 510 held between the first transparent insulating substrate 110 and the first polarizer plate 120 and relaxing the stress generated in the first polarizer plate 120 when being bent; and a second stress-relieving layer 520 held between the second transparent insulating substrate 210 and the second polarizer plate 220 and relieving the stress generated in the second polarizer plate 220 when being bent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
