<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of consistently feeding sheets by reducing the load on a conveying motor for driving a conveying roller downstream of the sheet conveying direction from a sucking and conveying belt and preventing wrinkles of a sheet between the sucking and conveying belt and conveying roller. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet feeder comprises a suction fan 101 for generating the negative pressure, a suction duct 100 connected to the suction fan 101 to keep the inside thereof in a negative pressure condition, a sucking and conveying belt 103 for sucking and conveying a sheet by the negative pressure in the suction duct 100, and a conveying roller 108 provided downstream of the sheet conveying direction from the sucking and conveying belt 103 to convey the sheet. After the sheet conveyed by the sucking and conveying belt 103 reaches the conveying roller 106, the timing from the turn-off of the supply of the negative pressure in the suction duct 100 by the suction fan 101 to the stop of the drive of the sucking and conveying belt 103 is changed according to the kind of the sheet to be conveyed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
