METHOD FOR PRODUCING MICROORGANISM-INCLUDING POLYMERIC GEL BEADS, AND SOIL-MODIFYING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very simple method for efficiently and safely mass-producing high-performance fine gel beads with immobilized useful microorganisms in high density at low cost so as to control their size as desired over a wide range. SOLUTION: The method comprises the following process: A first W/O emulsion where an aqueous solution containing useful microorganisms and a gel-forming water-soluble polymer is dispersed in an oily phase and a second W/O emulsion where an aqueous solution containing polyvalent cations is dispersed in an oily phase are mixed together under agitation to effect mutual collision of the droplets of the respective dispersed phases of both the W/O emulsions, thus forming the objective gel beads with the immobilized useful microorganisms therein.
