PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an androgen receptor binding inhibitor useful for the prevention and/or treatment of androgen-dependent diseases such as hypertrichosis, acne (acne vulgaris) and male-pattern alopecia. SOLUTION: This androgen receptor binding inhibitor contains one or more components selected from hinokitiol, menthol, polygoni radix and extract of polygoni radix. Hinokitiol is a terpene compound included in a tree such as Japanese cypress and is known to have antibacterial action. Menthol is a monoterpene alcohol which is a main component of peppermint oil obtained from the leaf or stalk of a plant of the genus Mentha, etc., such as Mentha arvensis, Mentha piperita, Mentha spicata, etc. Polygoni radix is a kind of herb drug and produced by drying the root tuber of Pleuropterus multiflorus belonging to the family Polyhgonaceae. Panax japonicum is also a kind of herb drug and produced by drying the rhizome of Panax pseudoginseng ssp. japonicus belonging to the family Araliceae as it is or after treating with hot water. |
