FIELD: information technology.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and system for adaptively selecting electronic message scanning rules. System includes a processor, a system memory, a computer storage device that stores rules for scanning SPAM and executable instructions implementing a classifier messages and selection module and re-ordering of rules, when message classifier receives e-mail messages, applies SPAM scanning rules for which probability of receiving SPAM messages from e-mail is calculated, and measures amount of resources spent on application of SPAM scanning rules and synthetizes performance index from calculated results and measured resource overheads for SPAM scanning rules which determines performance of electronic message classification as SPAM, when module for selecting and re-ordering rules compares synthesised performance index with existing performance indexes for SPAM scanning rules, and selects new subset of SPAM scanning rules for using classification of next e-mail messages based on comparison results.EFFECT: improving efficiency of electronic message classification rules.20 cl, 2 tbl, 5 dwg |
