Using a convex roller positioned inside the pipe to be worked and a circular forming groove positioned on the outside of said pipe, form rolling is performed so that the vertical wall sections of the locking ridge are formed to rise at an angle of 65o to 90o with respect to the outer circumferential surface in the pipe shaft direction and the height from the outer circumferential surface of the locking ridge to the tip of the apex is formed to be at least the sum of the radii of curvature of the surfaces of the working means that contact the pipe.
