PURPOSE:To improve erasability after information is written while preventing the deterioration of picture quality resulting from the change of color-developing density, etc., by successively arranging a first heating section, a cooling section and a second heating section in front of the write heating section of information to a thermal recording body. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording body 1 is carried in the direction of the arrow, and a first heating section 2, a first cooling section 3, a second heating section 4, a write heating section 5 and a second cooling section 6 are disposed successively along the carrying path. A temperature detecting member 7, a heat-generating section 8 and a temperature control circuit 9 are installed to the first heating section 2. A cooling air blower 11 is mounted to the first cooling section 3, and a heating member 12 is set up to the second heating section 4 and a write member 13 to the write heating section 5 respectively. The thermal recording body 1 is heated at a temperature, where it is made cloudy, in the first heating section 2, and the thermal recording body 1 is cooled at a temperature, where cloudy density reaches near a maximum level, or lower in the cooling section. The thermal recording body 1 is heated at a temperature, where it is made opaque, in the second heating section 4. The write member 13 is composed of an end face type thermal head. |
