PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording sheet having high sensitivity and enhanced in heat resistance, water resistance and oil resistance by providing a thermal color forming layer based on a basic leuco dye and a specific org. developer and containing a specific sensitizer on a support. CONSTITUTION:Specified amounts of a color less-light-colored basic leuco dye, an org. developer represented by formula I (wherein R is a propyl group, an isopropyl group or a butyl group) and at least one of o-xylylene-bis-(phenyl ether) and 4-(m-methylphenoxymethyl)biphenyl being sensitizers are finely ground by a grinder such as a ball mill and a binder is added to the ground mixture to prepare a coating solution for a thermal color forming layer. This coating solution is applied to a support such as synthetic paper or a plastic film and dried to form the thermal color forming layer to produce a thermal recording sheet. Further, an overcoat layer composed of a polymeric substance containing a filler can be laminated on the thermal color forming layer for the purpose of enhancing preservability. |
