PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of secondary batteries in a battery pack including plural lashed secondary batteries each of which has a flat square metal container and an electrode mounted in the container.SOLUTION: A battery pack 1 includes a secondary battery 100 having a container 110 and an electrode mounted in the container 110, and spacers 200 disposed at both the sides in the thickness direction (X-axis direction) of the secondary battery 100. The container 110 has an intermediate area R1 overlapped with a mixture layer of the electrode and a peripheral edge area R2 around the intermediate area R1 at each of wide side surfaces 110 in the thickness direction of the container 110. Each of the spacers 200 arranged at both the sides in the thickness direction of the secondary battery 100 has a contact portion 210 contacting the peripheral edge area R2 of the wide side surface 110, and a cavity portion 220 adjacent to the intermediate area R1 of the wide side surface 110a. The dimension in the thickness direction of the cavity portion 220 is not less than the expansion amount in the thickness direction of the wide side surface 110 when the secondary battery 100 is fully charged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
