摘要 The present invention relates to a use of an acid in a manufacture of an organopolysiloxane through a condensation reaction of a silicon-containing compound containing a silicon-bonded hydroxyl group and a silicon-containing compound containing a silicon-bonded aminoxy group. Particularly, the present invention relates to a low-odor composition including such an organopolysiloxane. The composition according to the present invention can have little odor caused by a by-product produced via the condensation reaction described above.

An organopolysiloxane composition comprising: at least one inorganic acid or carboxylic acid, and an organopolysiloxane obtained by condensation reaction of at least one silicon-containing compound containing a silicon-bonded hydroxyl group and at least one silicon-containing compound containing a silicon-bonded aminoxy group, wherein said organopolysiloxane composition comprises not less than 0.3 mol of the inorganic acid or the carboxylic acid per 1 mol of the silicon-containing compound containing the silicon-bonded aminoxy group, wherein the silicon-containing compound containing a silicon-bonded aminoxv group is a diorganopolvsiloxane capped at both molecular terminals with diorganoaminoxvsilvl groups, a diorganosiloxane-polvoxvalkvlene block copolvmer capped at both molecular terminals with diorganoaminoxysilyl groups, an aminoxvorganopolvsiloxane capped at both molecular terminals with triorganosilvl groups, or a diorganosiloxane-aminoxvorganosiloxane copolvmer capped at both molecular terminals with triorganosilvl groups, and wherein the silicon-bonded aminoxy group is —ON(R3)2, wherein R3 are each independently a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted, straight, branched, or cyclic monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 30 carbons, or a group represented by the following formula: wherein R4 is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, or a divalent organic group.
