An operational circuit on Galois field (2m) includes first and second input selection terminals, a comparator, first and second flip-flop, an operational portion having a multiplying unit and a dividing unit, a multiplication & division selecting portion, and an output selecting portion, thereby heightening packing density of a chip serving for correcting an error and reducing complexity of a hardware without using ROM or PLA.
