1,075,412. Milking machines; pulsators. ALFA-LAVAL A.B. March 11, 1965 [March 11, 1964], No. 10356/65. Heading A1M. [Also in Division F1] A pulsator comprises two piston heads 6, 7 to which are clamped diaphragms 17, 19 dividing the support body 1 into chambers 11, 12, 15 and 16, the heads being joined by rod 8, and chambers 11, 12 and duct 21 through the being filled with a damping liquid. A cavity 5 in the body 1 communicates through a filter with the atmosphere and channel 24 is connected to a vacuum source. The teat cups are connected in pairs to channels 29, 30 which are subjected alternately to vacuum and atmospheric pressure by means of a slide valve 33 secured to piston rod 8. The channel 24 communicates with the cavity 5 via a channel 39 controlled by a slide 37 rotatable about a pin in the body 1 under the control of a lever 44 and spring 45. The slide 37 has a recess 40 which connects with chamber 15 via passage 41 as shown in Fig. 3 to connect the chamber 15 to vacuum. A similar passage is provided to connect chamber 16 with recess 40 when the slide is in its opposite position. Vertical channels 42, 43 are also provided in slide 37 so that (Fig. 3) when the upper end of channel 43 communicates with cavity 5 and hence atmosphere, the lower end of the channel 43 communicates with chamber 16, the resultant pressure difference in chambers 15, 16 causing the piston to move.
|
