PURPOSE:To accurately diagnose a fault, and also to miniaturize a device and to realize the high speed operation thereof as to a self-diagnosable system for an image forming device. CONSTITUTION:The fault temporarily caused on the image forming device is limited as a single fault, all conditions possibly occurring on the device when the fault is caused are previously simulated, and the result of simulation is stored in a virtual case holding part 12 as plural virtual cases. And the detection values of sensors X, VS, and DS are made fuzzy qualitative value based on the membership function stored in a membership function forming part 13 at the time of driving the device. And the fuzzy qualitative values are compared with the virtual case stored in the virtual case holding part 12, then the cause of the fault is estimated. Since the virtual case stored in the virtual case holding part 12 is selected by using the sensor values which are made the fuzzy qualitative value, the fault can be accurately specified in a short time. |
