PURPOSE:To provide the medium processor which can handle different kind of cards such as a bank card and a credit company card by itself and eliminates the need for a complicate procedure for selecting the medium processor according to the kinds of the cards, and is improved in operability and reduced in cost. CONSTITUTION:A main control part 8 refers to a table in an auxiliary storage part 7 according to a company identification code read by a card read part 2 to discriminate which of the bank card and credit company card is currently inserted, and selects a transmission/reception message format to be used. When the inserted card is the bank card, a transmission control part 5 performs processes according to the transmission/reception message format of bank POS transmission and reception, but when the inserted card is the credit company card, the transmission control part 5 performs processes according to the transmission/reception message format of CATT transmission and reception. |
