PURPOSE:To change the recording light according to the degree of change in the reflection light by representing the degree as the change of the reflection light in the case an obstacle such as fingerprints appears on the translucent substrate of an optical disk. CONSTITUTION:The optical information is recorded by irradiating the recording layer of an optical disk 1 with the recording light from a recording light generation section 7 through the translucent substrate. In this case, the reflection light of the recording light from a recording light output section 7 is detected by a reflection light detection section 8, which is turned into a waveform signal by a signal forming section 15. One part of the waveform signal is subjected to sample and hold. The signal is compared with the reference signal, further the arithmetic processing of this comparison signal is performed to output the result to a recording light quantity control section 16 as a recording light quantity control reference signal. The quantity of the recording light to be generated from the recording light generation section 7 is controlled. |
