<p>The invention relates to an improved method of ion exchange. The inventive concept involves directly contacting a substantially dry ion exchange resin with a substantially dry material which material is solubilized by the resin. The inventive principle is applicable to cationic or anionic resins and is adaptable to fixed bed, semimoving bed or continuous ion exchange systems. New results and advantages include significantly improved quality and yield of ion exchange product. The invention is particularly applicable to the production of phosphoric acid produced by reacting monocalcium orthophosphate with a strong acid ion exchange resin on the hydrogen cycle.</p> |
