Resilient sealing means such as a bellows 22 of metal or elastomeric material is disposed between the base of a cup-like member 19 and a flange 18 on a tube 16, the member being substantially enclosed by a cup-like nut 23 which exerts pressure on the flange 21 of the member to assist in forming a fluid seal between the member and a cover 14 for the rotor shaft 10 of a turbo-generator; a sealing ring 24 is contained in a groove in the cover. In a modification, the positions of the base of the member 19 and the flange 18 are reversed. Insulating elastomeric material electrically isolates the tube 16 from the shaft 10 and the tube is lined with glass ceramic; alternatively, insulation is provided between the member 19, cover 14 and the nut 23 by coating the nut with glass ceramic or providing separate insulating members. |
