The crane comprises a movable trolley and a rigid mast which extends downwardly from the trolley and which has a fixed portion and an intermediate telescopic portion. A swinging cradle on the carriage has a pick up for the crucible and the telescopic portion is vertically positioned by a power connection. A cable and sheave lifting connection between the telescopic mast and the carriage vertically moves the latter faster than the mast. A power lift between carriage and cradle swings the cradle and crucible and tilts the latter about its pouring lip. |
