A strong plastic watch strap is produced by using a reinforcement in the form of a stainless steel ribbon which has already been suitably perforated, notched and fitted with eyelets, and then spray-coating the metal on both sides with plastic material. By injecting the plastic also into the perforations and notches, a good adhesion of the two plastic faces to one another is ensured. The strap retains its shape, resists tearing and is cheap to produce. Thermosetting, elastomeric, transparent or coloured material can be used for coating the metal strap. The strap-fastening can be lengthened by hinging several elements to one another which open out momentarily when the hand is passed through. |
