A bar stock guide on an automatic lathe comprises a tabular housing formed of upper and lower parts 1, 2, each of which carries rods 9, 9a on which there are mounted at spaced intervals elastic guide members 10, 10a which provide a bar guide channel therebetween and the upper part 1 is pivotally mounted at 5 to allow upward movement thereof for lateral loading of a stock bar into the guide channel. The bar is fed by a push-rod 11 connected by an arm 12 to a drive chain (not shown). The elastic guides 10, 10a are formed of a glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide. |
