PURPOSE:To reduce various kinds of problems due to an electric discharge product generated by the discharge of a primary charger without causing problems of image unevenness, adhesion, etc., of developer to an image carrier always, even when an image forming process is repeated. CONSTITUTION:Between the start of an image forming sequence and the na discharge current value of the primary charger charging uniformly a photosensitive body drum is set to -400muA and succeedingly the total discharge current value of the first charger is changed to -800muA synchronizing with the start of the formation of the electrostatic latent image and further, the total discharge current value is changed to -400muA again synchronizing with the end of the formation of the electrostatic latent image. By repeating the process till the image formation of four colors is ended, a multi-color image is formed. Thus, the integrated value of the total discharge current of the first charger per one time of the image forming process is suppressed while performing excellent image formation by uniform and stable charge in an electrostatic latent image forming interval. |
