In a programme control system for a machine tool having an advance drive comprising directional electromagnetic clutches, the difference between an assigned signal from a control computer and a signal from a machine part position measuring device is used to control the clutches and is fed to the control computer so that at a certain value of the difference the signal from the computer is held. It is stated that when the actual machine part advance speed is lower than the programmed speed from the computer the system operates to adjust the mean speed of advance assigned by the computer to the actual speed. It is also stated that failure of the machine part drive causes a permanent holding of the computer. |
