A heat exchanger 15 for heating boiler feedwater in a two-part casing L7, 18 by the counter flow of return water from a steam separator through an annular copper coil 35 therein formed (Fig. 3, not shown) with a plurality of turns 36-39 and staggered rows 42-46, has the central inlet and peripheral outlet of the coil 35 connected to inlet and outlet connectors 51, 66 passing through the lower part 18 of the casing by rigid bronze ells (Figs. 5-8, not shown). The peripheral feedwater inlet 19 and central outlet 20 are formed in the upper part 17 of the casing. Coil pads 73, 74 and retaining ring 75 help keep the coil 35 in position in the casing 17, 18 which is fitted with a drain cock 21. |
