PURPOSE:To obtain a low-toxic safe agent for the prevention and treatment of ulcerative colitis by using a natural substance as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The root of Sophora angustifolia used as a stomachic and stegnotic from old times or KUJIN (root of Sophora angustifolia) obtained by removing the most part of the peripheral skin of the root is used as an active component of the objective agent. The agent may be used as it is by oral administration in the form of powder or extract (extracted with water or alcohol) or in the form of peroral pharmaceutical composition prepared by combining with an ordinary pharmacologically permissible drug assistant. The daily dose of the active component for adult is 0.1-3g for powder and 0.05-0.5g for extract. |
