PURPOSE:To prevent a copying operation from being performed erroneously by turning on a stored ready-lamp when the device is ready again, and allowing stored copy mode. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a jam stop means 45 which automatically stops the operation of the copying machine main body when a transfer sheet is jammed during copying, a storage means 41 which stored monochrome or color copying mode being used until the stop means 45 stops the operation, a reset means 31 which resets the device after the cancellation of the jamming of the sheet, and a copy control means 46 which, when the device is ready after being reset by the reset means 31, turns on only the copy allowable lamp for the mode stored in the storage means 41 among the monochrome copying allowable lamp 34 or color copying allowable lamp 36.
