A double-twist twisting spindle using elongated pirns has a supporting ring 5 adjustably fixed at a point along the lengthof the spindle. The supporting ring 5 rotates with the spindle and has an outer diameter at least equal to (preferably 10-20% greater than) yarn guide 3. The supporting ring 5 can be fixed to the rotating guide 3 through one or more connecting rods which may be of adjustable length. The supporting ring 5 can have an outwardly directed deflector edge 6. The spindle can twist man-made yarns of less than 30 denier with package lengths of at least 300 mm. and weights of at least 3 kg. The yarns can be of polypropylene or polyamide. |
