Fertiliser is produced by decomposing crude phosphates with HNO3, then adding KCl to resultant acid soln., solidifying mixture at 80-250 degrees with simultaneous expulsion of chloride, opt. granulating and drying. Pef. P2O5/CaO ratio in soln. is adjusted to 0.6-1.0 before adding KCl, air and/or steam is passed through mixture and solidified mixture is moistened with water before drying. Over 95% chloride is removed from soln. in this way, making fertiliser suitable for chloride-sensitive plants, without need to use separate process to produce chloride-free K salt.
|
