A root pin for use in making artificial teeth comprises a metal frustum 1 having a blind bore 2, 5 extending from the larger diameter end and a flat-ground surface 4 parallel to its axis A extending from the smaller diameter end. The bore comprises a larger diameter portion 2 and a shorter smaller diameter portion 5, the portions being cylindrical or tapering (Figure 3) at the same angle as the taper of the frustum. External annular grooves 3 of square section are arranged around the larger diameter end and slots 6 for keying with synthetic material or cement are provided at the larger diameter end. |
