1291041 Fertility regulant for cats E R SQUIBB & SONS INC 2 Jan 1970 [2 Jan 1969] 200/70 Heading A5B The fertility of the female domestic cat is regulated by administration of a 16α, 17α- ketal or -acetal of 16α, 17α-dihydroxy progesterone in a quantity of from 0.25 to 25.0 mg each day or every two days. The active compound may be administered in admixture with the animal feed or in more concentrated form, e.g. as drops of a solution in an oil such as cod-liver oil either directly to the animal or when added to the feed ration. Suitable active compounds are disclosed in Specification 885611 and are compounds of the formula: wherein P is H, C 1-7 alkyl or phenyl, optionally substituted with a halo, C 1-7 alkoxy, -OH, C 1-7 alkyl, -NO 2 , acylamino or -CN and Q is phenyl, optionally substituted as in P. |
