Process for prepn. of cpds. of partial formula (I):- (I) where R' = alkylene with at least 3 C atoms separating OH and the nucleus R3 = Ch2 or -CH2CH2- S = a steroid residue. I are intermediates for the corresp. 20-spiro-steroids, which are aldosterone antagonists.
