PURPOSE:To make the coarseness of an image of QCIF and stiff motion in slow transmission inconspicuous. CONSTITUTION:When an image transmission rate shows a value of >=64Kbps and an image format shows CIF (S6, S7), a reception image is converted to an NTSC format as it is (S9). When the rate shows a value of <64Kbps and the format shows QCIF (S6, S8), the reception image is converted to the NTSC format by reducing size to 1/2 in a crisscross direction (S11). When the rate shows a value of >=64Kbps and the format shows the QCIF format (S6, S7), or when the rate shows a value of <64Kbps and the format shows the CIF format (S6, S8), the reception image is converted to the NTSC format by reducing the size to 3/4 in the crisscross direction (S10). |
