[Also in Division C3] An aqueous sodium thiocyanate solution of a copolymer of acrylonitrile, vinylidene chloride and methyl acrylate containing at least 70% by weight of acrylonitrile and as stabilizer a combination of sodium metabisulphite with dibutyl tin diacetate or tri-n-butyl phosphite is extruded into a sodium thiocyanate, coagulating bath. The resulting filaments are washed with water, stretched in boiling water to 10 times their initial length and wet-heat relaxed at 122‹ to 125‹ C. |
