Making separate, crimped fibres by uniaxially drawing, preferably in the longitudinal direction, and mechanically slitting (preferably through slits fitted in the spinnerette), a film or coagulated strip composed of conjugate polymer layers having different thermal contractions, into fibrils suitable for forming into threads and non-woven textiles, and then heating these fibrils to cause contraction resulting in crimping. |
