The invention provides a device for cycling a predetermined number of operations of a controlled machine, such as a photocopying machine, by presetting a dial and depressing a start button of the controlled machine without actuating a switch incorporated in the device. The switch is electrically coupled to the controlled machine such that when the switch is in a first position the machine is automatically stopped after accomplishing one cyclic operation. The switch is moved to a second position by presetting the dial to a predetermined number when more than one operation is desired to be cycled, whereby the predetermined number of operations may be continuously cycled. The switch is moved back to the first position when the next-to-last of the operations has been completed.
