In an orbital type floor polishing or carpet cleaning machine a carrier 45 for a brush 13 is rotatably mounted by a bearing 35 on a cylindrical metal plug 32 mounted eccentrically on a shaft 31 rotatable by a motor 12, and secured to the plug 32 is a flywheel disc 37 to which are secured counterbalance weights in the form of discs 42. The centre of gravity of the disc assembly 42 lies in a diametrical plane passing through the axes S, E of the shaft 31 and the plug 32, respectively. |
