A process for the manufacture of bipyridyls which comprises heating a bipiperidyl or a substituted pyridine derivative wherein the substituent is a piperidyl group or an open-chain group containing one or more nitrogen atoms, in the vapour phase at a temperature of at least 200 DEG C. in the presence of a dehydrogenation catalyst. |
