[Also in Division D1] A vat, particularly for bleaching and dyeing textiles, having a circular lid with a sealing packing between the wall of the vat and the edge of the lid is characterized in that a number of pins 3 are distributed around the circumference of a flange 2 at right-angles to the wall 1 of the vat, the pins 3 being provided, on the side facing towards the centre of the vat, with notches 4 of a height corresponding to the depth of the lid edge portion 6, the lid edge portion 6 being provided with recesses corresponding in number and form to the pins such that the pins and recesses engage, and on turning the lid relative to the vat, the edge portion moves into the notches of the pins and locks the lid in position. The flange preferably projects outwardly from the wall of the vat to avoid hampering the entrance to the vat. The pins are preferably cylindrical and the recesses of circular arc form. The pins may be welded to the flange or may be in the form of bolts screwed into position. |
