The knitted fabric is covered on both sides by prepd. paper or foil (using a backing sheet if only one side is to be printed) and heated so that the fabric's own moisture content is converted to steam. This steam is evacuated and the resultant sandwich passed through heated rollers to transfer the dyestuff from the foil to the fabric in an even pattern. |
