1303817 Antihypertensive plant extracts ALBERT ROLLAND SA 17 July 1970 [19 July 1969] 36427/69 Heading A5B An extract having antihypertensive properties is obtained by macerating the fresh, powdered bark of Anacardium occidentale L (Anacardium Senegalensis) with water in the absence of light at 0 to 5‹C and separating the aqueous extract which may be dried or concentrated by heating in vacuo to 25‹ until reduced to 1/10th the original volume; removing the precipitate formed and lyophilising the filtrate. The active material may be incorporated into pharmaceutical compositions e.g. an injection in saline. |
