Heading E2A, A latch comprises a ball or roller 65 engageable in either of two recesses 54, 55 in a striking plate 53, and mounted for limited movement by a trunnion engaging in a slot 67 in a case, an abutment, a tongue 68, on a pivoted sector 61 loaded by a leaf spring 64 urges the ball or roller to engage in one of the recesses. The latch is released by rotating the sector anticlockwise so that an ear 69 on the sector engages the ball or roller and disengages it from the recesses in turn. The case has a cavity housing a resilient element 46 which loads a flexible tongue 45 on the case so as to press a protrusion 48 on the tongue against a bent edge of a keeper plate 50 (not shown) to which the striker plate 53 is secured to provide an anti vibration device.</p> |
