Ripe pears are kept at 5-8 degrees C until the pulp transforms into an emulsion-like substance and then into a glass-clear liquid contained within the peel. The liquid has highly antiseptic properties. By slow evaporation through the peel a dry substance can be obtained which also has antiseptic properties. The product is suitable for curing stomach and digestive tract ailments.
