Novel compounds I in which R is alkyl and R<SP>1</SP> is H or alkyl are prepared by reacting (a) a compound II with an R<SP>1</SP>-pyridine or a salt thereof, or (b) a compound III with ZnCl 2 Compound I may be reacted with NH 3 to give the uncomplexed compound. Pharmaceutical compositions used in the treatment of coccidiosis contain a compound I in conjunction with suitable excipients and are administered orally in feedstuffs or in the drinking water.</p> |
